Mollie Makes Magazine (twice)

Well today issue 44 came out of Mollie Makes magazine and I am in it again! I did a tutorial on how to cover and bind your own book! It is a marbled cover of course:) It has been super fun to be a part of a couple issues of this magazine. There are so some great crafting and decorating ideas in each one.

our little family

yesterday we had a really fun little birthday party for London. It was in Prescott at my parent's house and we took some shots of us four, thanks to my bro Jordan. This is the best one out of the lot. It is definitely not perfect. You can't even see Gretta's adorable dress. BUT! I love it. A lot. We really need to take pictures of us all together more often.

More pictures of the party to come. Thank you to my mom for helping me with food and decorations. She really is amazing.

28

tonight at 5pm my husband called me and said get the girls in the car and meet me on the 101. i had no idea anything was happening tonight so of course i was not dressed. and the girls were naked. but i obey my husband(usually) and got piled in the truck. he arranged a sitter (his mom) and took me to a fine restaurant.

i'm 28. and this year i have a couple goals. i will not get pregnant. i will get in shape. i will pay off debt.

shouldn't we all be a little selfish once in awhile? it doesn't really effect anyone else for the worse, so i'm going to take this year to do some things that are important to me.

it is now 9pm (we sure know how to party) and i'm about to jump into my squishy bed.

thank you and good night.

p.s. i like how we look airbrushed in this iPhone picture. i guess the built-in, auto self-enhancing editing option is a good one.
p.p.s. that was sarcastic. i don't like airbrushing pictures and if you knew me at all you would already know that.
p.p.p.s. but maybe i'm changing my mind because why the hell wouldn't i want to look perfect? i am being selfish this year after all.

august

london turns 1! i turn 28! and spencer turns 32! that's why i love this month so much. also, monsoons. it's such a moody month, so therefore, i made a moodboard! this board is part, what i want for my birthday, part what i want to make and part what i want to eat and part how i want to act. sorry, that was an annoying way to describe something.

birkenstocks, angel food cake, hand sewn baby dresses, and being more loving to those i love. hopefully august will be full of all of these things. and rain. more rain please!

i remember when i turned 8 years old i still lived in lake havasu city. i had a pool party at my house and had my best friends come over. i don't know any of the presents i got except a cassette tape with the single "you say" by lisa loeb. i felt like the coolest girl ever because that was the kind of music my big sister lisa listened to. as the night went on i remember the storm rolling in. we stood under the patio in our swimsuits and listened to the rain on the pool and watched the lightening. that memory will forever stand in my mind as (and here i am about to get a little deep/weird) who i really want to be. i want to be alive in the elements, with partial clothing and wet hair, and good music and barfoot. that is my favorite feeling ever. (other than the feelings i get from snuggling my daughters and husband of course). there you have it, and now you know, all i want in life is to be naked in the rain.

date night: pane bianco

monday was a really great day. it is spencer's day off so we went swimming, took the girls to the planes movie, took naps, frozen yogurt and then we got to go on a date! i literally LIVE for dates nowadays. it's just that with these two rascals running around, we can hardly get a word in edgewise and i crave that one-on-one time with my man. it's so refreshing for me personally to feel that connection with spencer and also, we usually go to some place special like pane bianco!

this place is located on central in downtown phoenix. quaint and unexpectedly delicious. we loved it. i mean, we did feel a little out of style with all of those hipsters and cool kids staring at us, but who cares. maybe we will be more stylish again someday when we aren't hanging by a thread in survival mode :) (its not really that bad, but the no sleep thing... well that is really starting to get to me.. you know, since london will be a YEAR next month :((( )

so we started with this salad and i don't think i'll ever be satisfied with another salad in my whole life. each ingredient was so perfect in every way, there wasn't even any lettuce! i have to go back as soon as possible and somehow learn how to make it. also, homemade croutons. omg.

we decided to get the salami and olive pizza. because we are not stupid people. it was just as you're imagining it. salty and perfect.

afterwards we went into lux coffeebar next door. i wish the light wasn't so bad because that place is hip. i want this couch i saw in there, its a leather tufted, light tan, half circle couch. to die for. we sat outside and enjoyed our cherry tart and talked for awhile before heading back to real life. i just love date night.

maggie's dance photos

i have the cutest little niece. she is in the dance studio's dance company in prescott. that means she practices for many hours a day and goes to competitions and lots of other events. she has gotten so good in the year that she joined the company. her and her mom decided to have me take her dance pictures instead of purchase the same old ones that they get done in the studio. so fun!

Yellow Belly

Well that last post was a bit emotional. And this one will be no different. That's what you get from a "already-super-sensitive-pregnant-hormonal-mess-of-a-woman". I'm working on this part of me. But it is a hard fire to put out. Those hormones.

Yesterday Spencer, Gretta, Baby Bump and I drove up to Prescott. At a place called Sunset Point exactly 3 years ago this month, there were wildflowers GONE wild! Yellow heavenly plateau of blossoms. Just in time for us to get some wedding pictures there.

Now, 3 years later they are there again. Not exactly AS bright and full, but they are there and we love them. So we stopped and got a belly picture. I was wearing the worst outfit possible and Spencer does not know how to use my camera, but he did get this gem. And I'm glad little sister will feel a little special that we wanted to document her time in my belly. Thanks spencer. I love you.

Speaking of Spencer. He just left 18 minutes ago. He left for North Dakota. Again. It's a long story, but basically the job hunt was not good down in Arizona, and the company he worked for in North Dakota called him a few times to see if he wanted to come back. We've come to realize, an income and a job is very important for a man to be able to provide and work at. Without it, he feels pretty worthless. So let's not feel that way anymore shall we!?!

I'm doing my best to hold in all the tears because I absolutely hate being without him. And i hate even more not knowing when I'm going to see him next. P.S. Today the ENTIRE state of North Dakota's highways are shut down due to blizzarding conditions. Heaven help my husband. Bless his heart.
